WE ARE a busy Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) service based in the Sedgemoor area of Somerset. We offer a comprehensive mental health service for older adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, as well as a dementia diagnostic service including some post diagnostic support.
WE OFFER the opportunity to make a difference to older adults and their carers/loved ones, living in the Sedgemoor areas. We are committed to regular managerial support, clinical supervision and CPD opportunities. One of the team managers is an Occupational Therapist and we have a band 5 Occupational Therapist in post.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for older adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties in: Older Person's Mental Health Specialist Care Settings, the Community, for those under the Memory Assessment Service and the Therapeutic Group setting. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with individuals and their significant others who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties. Acting as a key member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, the post holder will provide assessment and psychosocial, evidence-based interventions using a collaborative approach and will be skilled at positive risk management. Liaison with a wide range of agencies is central to the role.
