An exciting opportunity has risen for a Catering Assistant to join our team based at Bridgwater Community Hospital.
As a catering team there is a strong focus on collaboration with nursing and dietetic colleagues in order that everybody involved in nutrition for patients has an understanding of food being part of the recovery process.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant who is flexible can work under pressure in a busy hospital environment.
To lead and assist in the efficient operation of the Catering Service for patients and the provision of all other meals throughout the hospital. This member of staff must have suitable knowledge of culinary skills, food safety and necessary nutrition to help strengthen decision making whilst working in a healthcare environment.
Although patients across Somerset FT are served through a cook freeze catering system it is vital that chefs have the ability to innovate and produce food to the very highest standard.
