District Nursing Permanent vacancies available across Somerset!

Main duties of the job

We are currently recruiting to various different permanent and fixed term posts across Somerset and would like to hear from enthusiastic, hardworking Registered Nurses to become a part of our friendly District Nursing teams.

Our District Nursing areas cover:

North Sedgemoor - Burnham-On-Sea / Bridgwater district

South Somerset - Yeovil / Chard district

Taunton & West Somerset - includes Minehead district

Mendips - Glastonbury, Wells, Frome

You must be a Registered General Nurse and community experience is desirable but not essential. When you are applying, please could you specify your preferred location in your supporting statement and we will do our best to ensure you are working within your preferred area.

Responsibilities include: End of life care, Venepuncture, medication administration, wound care, leg ulcer management, catheter care, bowel management, continence assessments, diabetes management

Shift patterns include: 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, 2pm-10pm

Please note, we are open to hearing from applicants who are looking for either full or part-time hours on a permanent basis. We are also recruiting to fixed term / maternity cover contracts within District Nursing.

Under the direction of the District Nurse Team Leader to be responsible for the assessment of both complex and simple care needs, the development,implementation and evaluation of programs of care and delegation of workload where appropriate to other members of the community nursing team. To refer patients who require a complex review of care needs or community care assessment to the District Nurse Team Leader. The Community Nurse will share responsibility as the joint coordinator of caseload management in the absence of the District Nurse.
