Are you interested in Paediatrics and Paediatric Diabetes?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dietitian to join our progressive and friendly team of Paediatric Dietitians, supporting the Paediatric Diabetes service, along with some general Paediatric work. Our supportive team is small but experienced, and are highly regarded, integral members of the wider multidisciplinary paediatric teams, providing both inpatient and outpatient services.

You will need to be passionate about working with children and, in particular, those with Diabetes. This would be an excellent role for a Dietitian who already has some experience in Paediatrics and wishes to specialise. Alternatively, this could be an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian, with good transferable skills, who wishes to develop their experience in Paediatrics. Training and support will be provided once you are in post, which may include Paediatric MSc modules if necessary.

Main duties of the job

As a Paediatric Dietitian you will work for two days a week in the multidisciplinary Paediatric Diabetes team, supporting, and supported by the Band 7 Lead Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian. This will include providing care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, along with some school and home visits. The general paediatric element of the role will include a mixture of inpatient and outpatient care, based primarily at Musgrove Park Hospital. Paediatric outpatient clinics are run as a mixture of video (Attend Anywhere), telephone or face to face, which may include community locations.
