Job summary

The Sterile Services Department has an exciting opportunity for a Sterile Service Technician to join their team!

This is a 37.5 hour per week role, including shift rotation, one Saturday every 3 weeks and ad-hok on call working.

This role entails shift patterns between 06:00 - 00:30. Please ensure you are available to rotate through the shift pattern before submitting an application.

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake decontamination science duties and assist the workforce of Senior Technicians and supervisors, in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient throughout Somerset.
  • To carry out the collection, receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilization and delivery of reusable medical devices.
  • Work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
  • To provide supervision to Decontamination Apprentice Technicians within the team.
  • Plan your own workload with limited supervision
