Musgrove Park Hospital based in Taunton, the county town of Somerset, has an excellent reputation for providing a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and specialist services.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a clinical fellow (registrar level) in Gastroenterology to join our forward thinking team. The department runs a comprehensive service to West Somerset, with over 2,000 new outpatient referrals to the department and over 11,000 endoscopy procedures in the last year.
You will join our team from August 2023 and you will be with us for a 12 month period. You will have a bespoke job timetable that will be based on your experience and training needs. This will include; support to the inpatient gastroenterology service, regular outpatient clinics, endoscopy training in the relevant modality, some commitment to the GIM on call rota.

- Regular outpatient clinics
- Endoscopy training in the relevant modality, if upper GI endoscopy is the main training requirement this will be offered in a high intensity manner with the aim of achieving independent practice (over 200 procedures) in the first 6 months of the post. This will then allow delivery of service lists during the remainder of the post.
- Some commitment to the GIM on call rota this can be negotiated according to training needs of the successful post holder and the other registrars.
