Job summary
Hestercombe is a busy trauma and orthopaedic surgical ward where patients are cared for in side rooms pre and post operatively.
The successful candidate will need to be able to develop a rapport with patients to encourage postoperative participation in enablement sessions to encourage early mobilisation and reduction in length of stay after procedure. The role requires initiative and to be able to organise own workload and time. You will also need to deliver meaningful activities for people with enhance care needs such as dementia, cognitive impairment and care of the elderly, in a hospital environment. This will require effective communication with both the patient and their families. Previous HCA or reablement experienced required.
Main duties of the job
Encouraging and assisting postoperative patients to mobilise as soon as possible to aid recovery facilitating discharge.
Managing a patient caseload in delivering meaningful activities for patients with enhanced care needs including delirium, dementia and cognitive impairment in accordance with individual needs in order to promote wellbeing.
