Registered Mental Health Nurse - Band 5 or Band 6 - Somerset

Are you an experienced or newly qualified Mental Health Nurse RMN? We want to hear from you!

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, awarded Mental Health Trust of the Year 2021, are currently looking for RMN's on a permanent basis - full time and part time hours available.

Our trust provides mental health services to all age ranges and supports people with a range of mental health problems whether they are mild, moderate or severe.

Now is a great time to work in the NHS and with such focus on the importance of mental health, Mental Health Nurses are really standing out. We are looking for nurses to contribute to providing excellent services and to make a difference to patient's recovery.

Our teams include:

  • Inpatient wards including CAMHS
  • Home Treatment team
  • Perinatal Services
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Community Mental Health teams

We will contact you to discuss your preferred area.

Main duties of the job

We will empower you to work innovatively, showing a commitment to providing compassionate care and a strong desire to improve the patient's experience. You will be able to apply the philosophies of engagement, recovery and positive care in your work with your patients.

We have roles available across Somerset in our Inpatient wards and the Community teams. Our teams are based at Wells, Taunton, Bridgwater, Minehead and Yeovil.

What can we offer you?

  • Excellent annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days, rising to 29 after 5 years service and 33 after 10 years service
  • Fantastic development opportunities available
  • Opportunity to work in a rotational post across our sites to give you exposure to different areas
  • Competitive relocation package if you're looking to make the move to Somerset (to be discussed - Ts and Cs apply)
  • A career pathway in Mental Health nurses to support training and development.

About us

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, continuing professional development and regular informal conversations around career progression, annual recognition awards to celebrate and recognise our colleagues achievements throughout the year and not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

We work hard to make sure that inclusion is part of everything we do. We know that true inclusion means we're able to provide the best care for our patients and provide a fulfilling career for all our colleagues.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London - there is truly something for everyone!

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable.

We have six active and impactful colleague networks. These networks provide a safe space for colleagues to share their experiences and learn from one another, but also influence change across our trust:

  • Multicultural Network
  • Women's Network
  • Armed Forces' Network
  • LGBTQ+ Network
  • Lived Experience Network, for colleagues living with disabilities
  • Autistic Colleague Network
