Job summary

Are you looking for a chance to work in a dynamic outpatient setting within the MSK service in Somerset?

We have several posts available across the south of the county based in the community hospitals due to internal promotions to Band 6.

You will work closely along side the team including Exercise Instructors, Band 6 clinicians, Osteopaths, EPP ( Enhanced Practice Physiotherapists), FCP ( First Contact Practitioners), Minor Injuries Units, OASIS, Injection Therapists and community services. We receive referrals from GPs, Consultants, Orthopaedics, OASIS and FCP clinicians as well as other AHPs.

We offer a generous CPD allowance per week for Band 5s depending on project work, quarterly in-service training, service away day and yearly clinical away day. Therefore providing many opportunities for growth and development of both yourself and the wider service. Our EPP, FCP and OASIS practitioners work in the departments providing support, training and joint clinical sessions to enhance your learning and patient experience.

Main duties of the job

Healthcare within Somerset is undergoing exciting changes following the MSK recovery post Covid-19.

This offers great opportunities to gain new skills and work in an exciting and dynamic therapy team, within a Trust that places a strong emphasis on CPD, clinical supervision and staff development. We offer a mixed virtual and face to face clinic to our patients which gives staff variety in their day and offers up chance to hone in on different skills.

You will undergo a comprehensive and closely supervised induction programme to complete clinical competencies before taking on your own caseload and diary.

You will be responsible for your own caseload/ diary, stock ordering duties in the department, supporting students as well as taking an active part in the development of our service. You will also be involved in provision of our gym based group classes.
