An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Acute Medical Team at Musgrove Park Hospital as a part time (30 hrs) Band 5 Occupational Therapist. Acute Medicine covers several different wards and includes the specialisms; Respiratory, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endocrine, Oncology and General Medicine.
In this post you will be responsible for assessment and treatment interventions for your caseload (ward based) and will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. You will need excellent communication and team working skills.
We are particularly looking for an individual that is keen to support the introduction of the Early OT Intervention project (enabling appropriate patients to have early access to therapy interventions). We are a growing team and are very enthusiastic to provide occupational therapy to patients early on in their admission to promote function, independence and prevent deconditioning.

Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy Service as a band 5 Occupational therapist within medical team.
To hold responsibility for own caseload and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, working without direct supervision but having access to a Senior Occupational Therapist on a daily basis and participating in the Service's formal Professional Supervision & Appraisal Programme.
