Job summary

Cambridge Genomics Laboratory is recruiting a Healthcare Science Associate / Stores Clerk, Band 3, to join our technical team.

We are looking for individuals with an enthusiastic and flexible attitude who have a desire to make a difference working in a diagnostic Genomics laboratory. This role will include stock management and unpacking of deliveries; rotation and stock checks; general consumable ordering; packing and send out of samples. General lab duties and sample receipt may also be required.

The Laboratory is part of the East Genomic Laboratory Hub (EGLH). This is one of seven Genomic Hubs recently established to provide the new National Genomic Medicine Service for NHS England, led by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and working with Nottingham University Hospital and University Hospital Leicester.

Main duties of the job

1. Management of laboratory stock and reagents2. Receipt, logging and banking of samples3. Quantifying and normalising DNA samples4. Preparation and packaging of samples to be sent to other laboratories5. Preparation of solutions and reagents
