Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Maternity Team at the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge.

We are looking for an enthusiastic administrator to join the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Team. You will work closely with the Part Time Screening Failsafe Officer and the Screening Midwives to maintain accurate screening databases and provide accurate statistical information.

Pregnant women and newborn babies are offered screening tests as an integrated and linked part of their care. The Antenatal and Newborn screening programmes aim to detect conditions that are present in either the mother or baby that might have an adverse effect on their health/well-being. Optimal screening programmes require effective team working across a number of professional groups, departments and organisations. Trust programmes are benchmarked against national and locally agreed standards and audit and performance monitoring is seen as essential to assure the safety and effectiveness of the service.

You will be accountable to the Lead Midwife for Antenatal and Newborn Screening. We are a small team who is looking for someone who has a passion for details, is keen to make a difference to the care pathway of all women and babies and has excellent IT skills. You should be able to manage own workload, be flexible to changes and be able to communicate effectively with the team and outside organisations.

Main duties of the job

The daily maintenance of the maternity Patient Tracking List (PTL).

The daily review of the National Newborn Bloodspot Failsafe and the Smart4Nipe systems and the escalation to the screening midwives of any outstanding screening not being met within nationally set timeframes.
