Are you an experienced Stroke Nurse looking for a senior leadership role? Then, this could be the role for you. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a secondment as a Lead Specialist Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary Stroke Team at CUH NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking for an individual who is a natural role model and who consistently demonstrates the Trust values (Together - Kind, Safe, Excellent) with a passion for supporting and developing others while providing visible leadership to motivate and inspire their teams.
As a Senior Lead Nurse, you will be a highly visual, dynamic, forward-thinking Nurse with excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills and the ability to motivate and support others through change and service development.
You will be working 40% of your time in clinical duties, and direct line manager of the Acute Stroke and Prevention Nursing teams, you will also provide professional guidance, leadership and direction to the Stroke Telemedicine and Research Teams.
You will play an integral role in the operational and strategic developments of the service across the stroke pathway, by working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, fellow Clinical Leads, Service Managers and Senior Management Team to ensure the team is empowered and skilled in the delivery of outstanding care to service users across the pathway.
Main duties of the job
In collaboration with the Clinical Lead for Stroke services the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Acute Stroke will ensure acute stroke services at the trust meet national standards, including maintaining A grade status in Stroke sentinel national audit programme (SSNAP). The Lead CNS for Acute Stroke will using the key pillars of the CNS role:
Improve patient pathways and service delivery through influence and innovation at a strategic level.
Contribute to better outcomes for patients, families, carers, and communities.
Exercise advanced levels of clinical judgement, knowledge, and experience.
Participate in, and influence, practice and service decision-making at Trust and regional level.
