Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow Core (ST1-2) / Higher (ST3-5/ST6+) in Respiratory Clinical Trials based in Clinical Pharmacology.

We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Fellow who will be embedded in a multi-disciplinary clinical research unit with strong links with the University of Cambridge, working in clinical trials, primarily in Respiratory Medicine.

The Clinical Research Fellow will be supervised by Dr Marie Fisk, COPD Researcher and Professor Ian Wilkinson, Head of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a full-time post is available from July/August 2024 for up to three years and will involve working within the departments of Clinical Pharmacology and Respiratory Medicine, but a minimum term of 12 months may be considered by arrangement.

Main duties of the job

In order to be considered applicants must have:

  • Degree in Medicine (MBBS or equivalent).
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application.

Applicants who have completed Foundation training and are either planning to apply for, or already have Core Medical or Specialist training experience (or equivalent) with interest in Respiratory Medicine, General Medicine, or Clinical Pharmacology or Cardiovascular Medicine and research would be well suited to this post.

This post may be suitable for those wishing to undertake an "F3" role.

About us

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
