Applications are invited for the post of Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Blood Sciences Haematology Department at Addenbrooke's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic and dedicated team.
The post will support our morphology service and ideally encompass the role of the haematology training officer to support our IBMS approved training accreditation.

As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare services.
Main duties of the job
Responsible as Advanced Biomedical Scientist for a specialist area
- Manages and coordinates the day to day activities of the team
- Leads on service improvement
- Processes specialist investigations and responsible for standard and quality of results
- Provides specialist advice to clinicians as to appropriateness of tests and timescales.
- Provides specialist service e.g. training, advanced trouble shooting, problem solving for specialist requirement.
- To work flexibly in reflection of service needs which may include an extended working day and/or participation in delivery of a 24 hour, 7 day per week service.
- The work of the service brings staff into constant contact with human body fluids, tissues and hazardous chemicals. This may include blood, pus, urine, faeces, and respiratory secretions.
- Maintain and promote professional image of CUH Trust.

- MSc in Biomedical Science or related subject
