Job summary

We are looking for a strong, confident and motivated leader to join the CUH Cancer Support Service Navigator Team. We are a friendly and passionate team aiming to improve services for people affected by cancer.

Are you an experienced manager or leader? Do you like problem solving and multi tasking?

This role will manage a team of Cancer Navigators and be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of patient support through holistic needs assessments. You must be confident in your leadership style and able to deal with issues quickly.

This is a patient facing role, so customer or patient experience is essential and knowledge of the impact of cancer advantageous.

The Cancer Support service is a large multi skilled team consisting of Cancer Navigators, Cancer Support Advisors and Project Managers.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the management of the Cancer Support Service Navigators and will also manage holistic needs assessments with patients.

You will support the Macmillan CUH Cancer Support Service Team to implement the Survivorship Initiative including Personalised Care (Formally known as Macmillan Recovery package).

Assisting the Macmillan CUH Cancer Support Service Team and healthcare professionals to implement Holistic Needs Assessment and End of Treatment Summaries.

The Lead Cancer Navigator will also support people to navigate the complex health and social care system.

Acting as a main point of contact for patients, carers and wider healthcare teams for the own site ensuring the joining up of services, coordination, information and communication between all creates a seamless experience of care.
