Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a leader who is passionate about dermatology care. This is an innovative lead role that will support our existing Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Team and enhance nurse led services.
We are looking to recruit a caring Registered Nurse who can work using their own initiative within our Dermatology outpatients department. Senior level of experience and autonomy within dermatology must be demonstrated.
You must be a strong leader who will deliver education and support to peers. The role will involve managing and leading a workforce of specialist nurses.
We seek a Lead CNS who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You would have the responsibility for ensuring high quality cost effective care.
You would be expected to work in partnership with the Consultant Dermatologists to improve and develop care pathways and clinical guidelines. Thus improving the patient experience, implementing a clearly defined integrated approach.
Whilst ensuring compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.
You will undertake independent prescribing for their own caseloads within the limits of the post holder's competence and the requirements of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner's role.
Main duties of the job
To actively participate in advancing nursing/midwifery practice across the Trust at a strategic level and through expertise on the frontline.
Articulates and demonstrates a vision of areas of practice that can be developed beyond the current scope of nursing/midwifery practice and demonstrates a commitment to the development of these areas.
Managing and lead the workforce of specialist nurses
Responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis implementation and evaluation of care, as an autonomous practitioner with highly specialist
Be involved in the collaborative strategic review of clinical
Be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care
