Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Officers to join the Security Team on the Bank.

You will have a group and individual responsibility for defined aspects of the service and will ensure that your contribution is positive and beneficial in helping Trust Security, Capital Estates and Facilities Management and other departments of the Trust to fulfil the Trust's overall objectives.

You will contribute to the work of the Security Service with the guidance of the Security Management Team to ensure that the Security Service meets agreed standards.

You will be the initial responder to all security incidents, resulting in the need for a physical presence to support and protect Trust staff, property and patients.

You will have a responsibility to action tasks when assigned to you, ensuring a proactive and professional approach.

Main duties of the job

The role of a Security Officer is to support the Trust Security department in the delivery of security services to the Trust.

Provide direct immediate response to all Trust security incidents, managing the situation as the first responder, and making assessments for wider escalation in keeping with a security and healthcare environment.

Be involved daily in high level impact and intense situations, requiring the regular use of conflict management and physical intervention, resulting in a physical and mentally demanding role.

Provide a security presence by undertaking regular patrols, both externally and internally, around the Trust, interacting with site users, observing for any suspicious activity, and undertaking dynamic risk assessments of the situation to deal with as appropriate.

Responsible for maintaining a professional approach to their work and responding in a rapid manner to all security and emergency incidents.
