Are you interested in working in research? Do you want to support clinical studies that could shape the future of medical treatment? We have an exciting opportunity for a band 3 healthcare assistant to work within our specialist research unit. You will be supporting the nursing staff to care for patients and healthy volunteers recruited to research studies. Supporting non-commercial and commercial studies in a variety of areas, including metabolic, paediatric and maternal health.
Your core duties will include phlebotomy, cannulation, recording vital signs, ECG, and sample processing.

To support the CCRC nursing team caring for research patients and healthy volunteers. To include providing phlebotomy, cannulation, sample processing and patient care
Hours- core hours 8-16.00 however late and early cover may be required at times.

Job responsibilities
As a Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) you will work under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a Nurse or Midwife, to ensure safe, kind and compassionate care for patients.
CUH offers a comprehensive four week clinical support staff induction programme and support to achieve the National Care Certificate. This will equip you to find your feet within the organisation and quickly feel like a valued member of the clinical team/s. Please note it is mandatory to attend every day of the induction programme.
We are currently recruiting for a wide variety of adult wards, please indicate if you have a preference for a speciality during your interview. Please note ward allocations will be offered based upon current vacancies within the trust.
As per Home Office guidelines. Please be aware that, unfortunately, the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular position.
Please note due to induction restrictions student visa holders are unable to undertake this position.
