Job summary

We are looking to recruit a skilled tradesperson / Carpenter with a friendly and positive "can do" attitude. You will attend to carpentry repairs and PPM duties, you will have the skills and expertise to be able to identify the problem(s) and find and fix issues within the NHS and Trust owned or run properties in the surrounding area.

You will have the ability to carry out varied carpentry duties to a competent standard.

You will be working in a team, and have the ability to undertake standalone tasks, with an emphasis on a quality finish, to meet with our customers high expectations.

You will conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards Codes of Practice,safe systems of work and recognised industry standards to minimise damage to the fabric of the property and to create minimal disruptions to our patients and visitors.

Main duties of the job

A Carpenter Joiner will be employed on work appropriate to their core specialist skills and level of qualification.

Performs work of routine and non-routine, non-complex and complex nature responsible for all repairs and routine planned maintenance activities as directed by management.

Ensure compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

Taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.

You will also be expected to carry out additional work involving glazing, locksmith, scaffolding and wood machinery.

Use complex carpentry equipment and machinery as required in accordance with all legislative and statutory guidance.

Carry out new work, installation and refurbishment work throughout the Trust.

Carry out glazing repairs as and when required.

Carry out installation and repairs to metal and fibre ceilings.

Communicate with Ward Managers, department managers, patients and visitors and other Trust staff.
