Job summary

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Capital, Estates and Facilities Management (CEFM) team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, in a key role as CEFM Health and Safety Manager.

You will support the Head of Estates Safety, Compliance & Resilience to ensure the Capital Estates and Facilities Management Division conducts its activities in a safe manner, so far as is reasonably practicable, to meet its obligations under UK health and safety legislation and other regulatory requirements.

You will have significant experience of UK health and safety coupled with a broad knowledge of Estates and Facilities. You will provide expert advice and knowledge to Divisions, Corporate Directorates, Governance groups, Senior Managers, Estates and contractors in the management of corporate health and safety risks, concerns, incidents and learning.

Main duties of the job

Youwill have specialist knowledge acquired through post-graduate level courses and experience to Masters equivalent level in safety/compliance or fire, as well as further qualifications including NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6. This is a challenging and exciting role supporting the Head of Estates Safety, Compliance and Resilience, in the day-to-day operational provision of expert health & safety advice, guidance, support, coaching and training in all aspects of health and safety across the division.

You will work to promote, develop and establish a positive safety culture, so that it can meet its UK legal requirements in terms of Health, Safety and Compliance,

You will be a key focus for the Trust's central Health and Safety Team, and be responsible for ensuring there is a deep culture of health and safety within CEFM management teams, and ensuring suitable systems are in place for monitoring and improving health and safety and compliance with regulatory and HTM requirements across the portfolio of services.
