Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated Band 6 Specialist Nurse to join our Stroke Prevention and Optimisation in Atrial Fibrillation team (SOS-AF). As a successful applicant, you will have excellent communication and time management skills, an strong ability to analyse complex cases, and provide detailed management advice to medical teams regarding anticoagulation.
You will work with various members of the Multi-Disciplinary team, screen for AF and atrial flutter, and recognising these on ECGs. You will work as an autonomous practitioner, and show evidence of expert clinical decision-making. You will also participate in clinics, projects, research, data analysis, and audits.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for identifying daily caseload, and working methodically, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
Responsible for providing high quality, specialist advice and support to Multi-Disciplinary teams, patients, family members.
Providing specialist education and training for other staff and students.
Liaise with Primary Care and other secondary care hospitals
Work with intra-hospital departments, seeking and providing advice, and managing referrals.
