Job summary

Are you a reliable, hardworking individual who thrives in a busy environment?Staff Bank Services successfully provides temporary staffing throughout Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust via a variety of different assignments.We are looking to register reliable BSE accredited echocardiographers who are available to work predominantly on weekends. The role requires paying attention to detail and being able to report TTE findings accurately. Full IT training will be given for EPIC and the GE systems.

We have training and ongoing support available in a variety of areas within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The worker will undertake transthoracic echocardiograms. Findings will be reported accurately and in a timely manner.

The worker may need to escalate clinically urgent findings by following department and trust policies and procedures.

The worker will remain professional at all times, liaise with other clinical teams and maintain good public relations on a one-to-one basis with the general public and other interest groups

  • Degree in Cardiac Physiology (BSc) or Healthcare Science (BSc) specialism in Cardiology (PTP) or Master in Healthcare Science specialising in Cardiology (or equivalent experience/skills BTech, HTech Cardiac Physiology)
  • BSE Accreditation (or equivalent completed)
  • Independent reporting to a high standard

Desirable

  • SCST/RCCP or HCPC registration
  • SCST Part 1 and 2 professional qualifications (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in transthoracic echocardiography
  • Relevant experience in a wide range of non-invasive and invasive cardiology tests
  • Experience in training, support, assessing and giving feedback to staff
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment, working alongside clinical and managerial staff.

Desirable

  • Experience in complex echo- TOE, DSE/ESE, Bubble, CRT
  • Ability to perform a range of diagnostic tests and provide factual reports with minimal supervision
  • Experience of training undergraduate, post graduate and other healthcare professional.
