Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow (ST3 - ST5) in Rheumatology at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post is due to commence on 07 August 2024, for a period of 12 months.
The primary duty of the post includes supporting the daily running of clinical research studies / trials on the Rheumatology Research Unit (level E6), by supporting the principal investigators, five dedicated research nurses and associated administrators. The unit currently runs >20 clinical studies, both commercial and non-commercial, and ranging from phase IIa to IV. The appointee will report to and be supervised by Dr Nicholas Shenker, Consultant Rheumatologist.
Main duties of the job
This post provides an excellent platform to develop experience in the delivery of academic studies and commercial clinical trials, learn to perform musculoskeletal ultrasound and write an academic paper with the supervision of the consultants. Some previous post-holders have developed research grant applications for a more substantial research project as part of a MD or PhD registration at the University of Cambridge.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
