Job summary

We are delighted to offer a fulltime opportunity for a Work Experience Administrator in our team.

This post will support the team with promoting career routes in the NHS, and other widening participation activities such as work shadowing placements for sixth form and school students, assist with insight programmes and apprenticeships at Cambridge University Hospitals. You will be joining a busy team providing assistance to the facilitation of the above and collecting data.

Onsite working with an 8am start is essential for the role, although there is opportunity for some home working on occasions with a Monday to Friday working pattern. There is opportunity for very occasional attendance at evening and Saturday careers events, and time in lieu will be offered to compensate. For this reason a valid driving license is a bonus to help to get to events, but not an essential criteria for the role.

Main duties of the job

As the Work Experience Administrator, you will collate and record data on widening participation programmes for national reporting purposes.

A major part of the role will be to work closely with CUH staff to help identify placements for sixth form students requiring work experience and administer all related paperwork for this. You will also be required to liaise with healthcare professionals to organise their involvement with promoting careers in the NHS to schools and colleges and other target groups. Occasionally you may be involved in promoting NHS careers and offering advice and guidance to students. Working as part of a busy fast-paced team, you are required to be an accurate administrator with excellent attention to detail. Good organisational skills, along with the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload is necessary.

This is an excellent career development opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for communicating with school students who wish to pursue a career within the NHS and gain exposure to a wide range of tasks and departments liaising with colleagues.
