Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Critical Care educator to experience working on a focused service improvement project with a project lead role. You will work for a year across all Critical Care areas as a competency project nurse - working alongside the lead to facilitate CC3N step 1 to 3 competency completion for all nursing staff, through formal and informal teaching.
The project will review the current Critical Care Step 1 education curriculum and use this opportunity to deliver a new version considering the use of technology and varying platforms. This role will also deliver on the implementation of the national Digital Step (1, 2 &3) project .We are looking for an educator who is innovative, diverse and creative to enhance our existing programs. You will work within a very passionate and dynamic practice development team.
Main duties of the job
This is a developmental project sister/charge nurse secondment post
To work across all Critical Care areas as a practice development nurse as a member of the competency project - facilitating CC3N step 1 to 3 competency completion for all nursing staff, through formal and informal teaching, and standardization of competency assessment.
To support the review of the current Critical Care Step 1 education curriculum, and deliver a new version ensuring it is focussed, current, achievable and incorporates the learning outcomes of both local and the CC3N Step 1 competencies.
To facilitate and support the delivery of the Critical Care education programme.
To support the implementation of the Digital Step 1, 2 and 3 project, increasing compliance and timely completion by critical care staff and new starters.
To support the project lead in promoting the work-based learning and competency completion of nursing staff, by promoting Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor training, ensuring uptake of these roles is increased, and delivering on their feedback of support required.
Work with the project lead to review, identify and feedback on strategies to improve student's engagement, learning, assessment and completion of the CC3N Step 1 to 3 competencies.
Promote the development and implementation of evidence based nursing practice.
