Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team of professionals committed to support children and young people with endocrine disorders or diabetes.

This locum consultant role (6 PA) for 12 months is suitable for a subspecialty accredited paediatric endocrinologist or an individual with equivalent experience. As part of the Paediatric endocrinology and diabetes team at Addenbrooke's Hospital you will share consultant responsibilities relating to the service, including outpatient clinics, inpatient responsibilities and out-of-hours cover in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes

We are a leading service in the East of England. We have been recognised as a centre of clinical excellence and research expertise in both diabetes and paediatric endocrinology.

Main duties of the job

Youshould be capable of working independently while exercising diligence to prioritise the workload to meet changing demands within the service. Previous experience in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes is essential. Excellent communication skills are imperative. Research or teaching experience are desired.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Paediatrics or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

About us

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
