Job summary

Cambridge University Health Partners (CUHP) is leading on the implementation of a Cambridgeshire Life science Strategy on behalf of its members, the broader ecosystem and the Cambridge and Peterborough Combined Authority.

The Strategy project support Manager will be working across all five pillars of the strategy (talent, funding, network, data and place), supporting the pillar leads and the Head of Strategy and Implementation. This role has been created to provide capacity within CUHP to progress the Cambridge Health and Life Sciences strategy to deliver global healthcare solutions and economic growth to improve lives and health outcomes.

You will need to work independently making decisions and be responsible for planning, and prioritising, your own workload as well as collaborating with the wider team. The role will require relationship building and interaction with representatives at all levels within member organisations, government, national and international funders and industrial partners to develop and drive forward strategic priorities on behalf of CUHP, the partner organisations and the Cambridgeshire cluster.

Main duties of the job

The Strategy project support Manager will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development, implementation and running of designated projects to progress the Cambridgeshire Life Science Strategy relating to Funding, Talent, Place, Network and Data.
  • Developing business cases and prepare high level strategy papers for key stakeholder meetings and for meetings of the senior leadership of CUHP and its members.
  • Undertaking literature/online research and preparing materials and presentations which are then iterated with stakeholders, around key areas, where collaborative strategic work is required across CUHP members.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or above or equivalent professional qualification/experience.
  • Evidence of on-going career/professional development.

Desirable

  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE II Practitioner) or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate degree level or equivalent.

Experience

  • Experience of project management including planning, implementation and report writing.
  • Experience working with complex datasets including analysis and collation.
  • Experience of presenting to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience of drafting corporate documents.
  • Demonstrable relevant experience working in similar professional environment (NHS or academic organisation).
  • Experience of working effectively with clinical and/or academic colleagues to achieve tangible outcome.

  • NHS experience - ideally in large acute academic centre.
