We have an exciting opportunity for a trained Surgical Practitioner or a trainee, to join our exciting Robotic Surgical Team. This is part of expanding our existing Robotic SCP Team to other multi-specialities including, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary and ENT.
As a trainee, you would be expected to undertake the MSc Surgical Care Practice (General Surgery) from a recognised University. You will be expected to work across the speciality where the robotic assisted surgery is performed.
The role will involve assisting with all oncology surgical procedures with a focus on robotically assisted surgery. You will be involved with the care of the patient through their entire surgical pathway from pre-assessment to post-operative care.
Main duties of the job
- Participate in operative procedures and aspects of pre and post-operative care of Robot Assisted Surgical (RAS) patients under the direct, indirect and proximal supervision of the Consultant Surgeons.
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis implementation and evaluation of care, as an autonomous practitioner with highly specialist skills.
- Be involved in the strategic review and improvement of clinical services as appropriate through active participation with the multi-professional team.
- Be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care.
- Working in close participation with patients and their families to ensure shared clinical decision process.
