Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with previous data entry experience to work in Human Research Tissue bank (HRTB) and Cambridge Brain Bank (CBB) which provide valuable tissue services to researchers both on the Biomedical Research Campus, nationally and internationally.

The role is part of an industrial collaboration that aims to automate the diagnosis of most small intestinal biopsies. This role will involve collating digital images of biopsies from selected cohorts , collecting clinicopathologial data from the electronic patient record (EPIC) and associating it with the images in anonymised form to the industrial collaborator. The postholder will also undertake data collection and other administrative support within Human Research Tissue Bank.

Please note remote working is not possible for this role.

Main duties of the job

Access Epic (Electronic Patient Record System) to compile patient cohorts, searching for demographic information and clinicopathological data to associate with the digital images from biopsies.

Use the digital image analysis system (Philips and associated software) to collect and anonymise biopsy images, reporting to the Histopathology Digital Pathology lead for this aspect of the role.

Run data queries in Epic and on the Achiever LIMS as required.

Use the Achiever Medical LIMS for creating donor, participant, collection event, sample and dispatch records.

Assist the Senior Data Manager in resolving day-to-day Achiever queries and liaise appropriately to ensure their resolution.

You will be required to work closely with a wide variety of staff of different grades and competencies , including laboratory, research, medical, internal and external IT personnel.

  • Good general education at GCSE level or equivalent including Maths, English and Science.
  • A levels or NVQ level 3 or equivalent sufficient for acceptance onto a relevant foundation degree.

Desirable

  • Science A level or equivalent.
