Job summary

This post will be responsible for supporting patients on the Intensive Weight Management Programme (IWMP). Other development opportunities may include Medical and Bariatric Surgery Clinics as well as supporting the Weight Maintenance Education Group and the Bariatric Surgery Education Group. The post is also a key contributor to the regular MDT discussions which provide robust clinical governance and strong communication links within a team which operates primarily virtually.

Substantial nursing experience is essential, ideally with experience in managing obesity or a keen interest to develop knowledge and understanding in this specialist field.

Experience in group education is desirable and an awareness of the current Tier 3 weight management pathway.

The role is based in the Wolfson Diabetes and Endocrine Clinic at CUH. This also includes outreach work in clinics in the community. As the service has a large virtual component with both individual and group video calls for most patients, working from home can be considered. It is essential that you are able to manage your own time well and work well both independently and within a team.

You will participate in relevant research where appropriate to the role, audit and development projects and contribute within a multidisciplinary team environment working within a multi professional framework and contributing to a first class service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.
