Epic Technical Lead / Senior Team Leader

Job summary

You will independently lead and manage the defined service area/areas of responsibility pertaining to their portfolio. You will have highly specialist knowledge of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems and in-depth experience in their technical architecture.

Responsible for leading the strategic planning, design and implementation of the Epic application lifecycle and participating in solution design for integrated third-party systems architecture.

This role is ideally filled by someone who is organised, strong in project management, and has a technical background with a good understanding of the EPR technical infrastructure. Accuracy and precision are critical, as is the ability to work in a complex, fast-paced, dynamic environment, develop and maintain relationships and deliver on requirements within minimal supervision.

Main duties of the job

  • Contribute to the development of the five-year digital strategy and the supporting one-year plans, in respect of Epic application lifecycle management and associated 3rd party systems requiring uplift to support the lifecycle of the EPR.
  • Provide input to and help maintain the overall platform roadmap and environment activity calendar including vendor driven initiatives, upgrades, and projects.
  • Responsible for application upgrade planning and timely, controlled execution, including overseeing application, integration, and system testing.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of the Epic application upgrades and architecture designs for system integrations as it relates to the digital strategy in support of the operational business needs of CUH and the wider system landscape.
  • Act as the primary lead for all Epic technical architecture related projects, queries, issues including managing bespoke change requests.
