Job summary
We are looking to recruit a skilled Electrical Engineer with a friendly and positive "can do" attitude to join our excellent team of Hospital Engineers.
You will be supporting and working in close cooperation with other senior Estates Engineering staff with the responsibility for successful on-going operation and maintenance of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust premises and assets with a special emphasis on ensuring statutory compliance and a suitable environment for patient care.
You will work in a number of areas covering different electrical infrastructures, including all electrical systems, generator supplies, UPS / IPS as well as joint responsibility within the team for the BMS (Building Management Systems).
Main duties of the job
Plan the engineering elements of multi-stranded systems and working a number of these at any given time by ensuing on going supplies, formulating plans and adjusting them in line with Trust objectives. Specialties that will need to be addressed may include Lifts, BMS, HV/LV electrical systems, building systems, CAFM systems and any other essential service to hospital function and patient welfare.
Responsible for ensuring the assets are maintained in accordance with statutory and mandatory requirements, and direct staff and contractors at all Trust premises to provide a quality service that is responsive, efficient and effective to the highest possible standards.
Ensure that external Consultants and contractors working in conjunction with the Hospital Engineer are fully aware of the policies, procedures, and standards of the Estates and Facilities Department.
Provide detailed professional technical advice to staff and contractors on issues that are complex and non-routine relating to the infrastructure and associated plant and equipment.
Maintain full and complete records of all works for which the post holder is responsible. These records will include PPMs, reactive works, remedial works, data management of information from the BMS system, PPM database information, etc.
