With the imminent installation of a new state of the art Cardiac Cath Lab, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Cardiology Day Unit.
We are a friendly and enthusiastic team caring for patients undergoing cardiology investigations and interventions. K2 is a day unit open from Monday - Friday and combines the Cardiac Cath Lab, nurse-led pre-assessment clinic, echo department and a 10 bed / seated recovery area.
You will assist in a wide range of cardiac procedures including right and left cardiac catheterisation, simple and complex cardiac device implantation, cardiac biopsy, subcutaneous ICD implantation, ILR implant/explant, DCCV, Ajmaline trials, TOE, stress and bubble echo. Ideally you will be a Cardiac Nurse with experience in a Cardiac Catheter Lab, the acute hospital setting or have senior nursing experience in another area.
The role requires that you work in a small MDT within a day unit assisting the Senior Sister in leadership and management responsibilities, and covering Division D bleep holding duties which will require you to work some unsocial hours.
