Applications are invited for the post of full-time (10 PA) substantive Consultant in Medical Oncology (Colorectal and Breast Cancer)
This post is to partly replace a retirement post in colorectal cancer but also to increase the clinical support for both colorectal and breast cancer services at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the research programmes of the CRUK Cambridge Cancer Centre.

This is not only an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team to help develop the existing service, but also to increase the clinical support for both colorectal and breast cancer services at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and the research programmes of the CRUK Cambridge Cancer Centre.
Main duties of the job
In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification of the job description.
The Oncology Centre at Addenbrooke's serves a core population of 1.3 million, with an extended catchment area of 2-4 million for rare tumours. Royal Papworth Hospital is due to move to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus in 2018. The Cancer Centre provides a regional oncology service with a strong research base and extensive clinical trials portfolio. The postholders will be expected to contribute significantly to the CRUK Cambridge Cancer Centre (colorectal and breast cancer) research programmes.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
About us
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
