Job summary
The Cambridge Bowel Cancer Screening team are looking for a Specialist Practitioner to join the Bowel Cancer Screening team. You will be working alongside a team of 9 Specialist Screening Practitioners to deliver the service. This is an ideal opportunity to develop your skills in the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme with future career opportunities available.
The BCSP service is currently open 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday, 8-6) in order to deliver the needs of an expanding service for age extension and lynch screening service.
As an SP within the bowel cancer screening service you will be working in accordance with the national and local screening specification to provide a safe and high quality service.
Main duties of the job
To assist the SSP team in preparing clinics for patient's assessment.
To assist with the running of the Bowel Screening Colonoscopy lists under the supervision of an SSP
To input live Colonoscopy data during the procedure
Responsible for completing Histology checks as per Endoscopy policy
To complete post Colonoscopy calls the next working day and document on BCSS
To participate in health promotion events to promote bowel cancer awareness
