Job summary

The Pharmacy Department at Cambridge University Hospitals is looking for a dedicated senior leader, skilled in both people management and provision of clinical pharmacy services to surgical patients, to join the pharmacy department as Lead Pharmacist Surgery. As a key driver of innovation and quality, the post holder will lead an expanding team of advanced and rotational pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to deliver excellent patient care across the surgical wards and related areas.

You will be expected to advance surgical medication management protocols, optimise workflows and foster collaboration with surgical teams.

The successful candidate can expect a supported induction period, training and development opportunities, clear leadership and management. They will be working in close collaboration with the Divisional leadership teams, operational management and senior management within pharmacy.

Main duties of the job

You will provide strategic leadership of clinical pharmacy services to surgery, delivering highly specialised pharmaceutical care to patients and working closely with other healthcare professionals within your area of expertise.

Active involvement in training and development of yourself and others is a key requirement. You will participate in quality improvement, new models of working, clinical audit, and continued professional development.

  • Masters level degree in pharmacy.
  • Registered as a pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)*.

Desirable
