Job summary
A vacancy has arisen in our busy Accounts Payable department, based off the main Hospital site at Trumpington, Cambridge.
You will be involved in building a relationship with a selected number of the Trust suppliers and ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner following the designated approval process. This is predominantly an office based role.
Good communication skills to respond to internal and external emails and telephone calls is essential.
Main duties of the job
Assist with opening, sorting and distribution of the internal post.
Separate new invoices between those with a Purchase Order and those without and follow the departmental process in each case.
Prioritize any invoices that are for paying and follow the Trust approval rules that allows payment to be made. Any scanning errors need to be corrected prior to processing. Ensure the correct bank details on the system agree with the suppliers invoice in all cases. Review the VAT category for each invoice and amend if required.
Respond to suppliers email and telephone queries in a professional and timely manner.
Reconcile supplier statements on a regular basis
Prioritise the daily work load in line with suppliers payment terms.
