Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager - Homecare, Virtual Wards, Outpatient Specialties

CUH Pharmacy are excited to introduce this newly developed senior role within the Clinical Pharmacy team. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop their leadership and managerial skillset as well as to maintain a clinical commitment to a relevant specialty.

Our ideal candidate would have an extensive background within clinical pharmacy, a passion for service improvement, be able to build excellent working relationships and have a track record of delivering on projects at divisional and organisational level.

If successful you would have the opportunity to work alongside system leaders and MDT colleagues to improve the management of patients receiving care in the outpatient and virtual ward settings.

Main duties of the job

Plan, lead and evaluate clinical pharmacy service input to outpatient based specialties across the Trust, in conjunction with other Lead Pharmacists where appropriate.

Act as an expert resource in one or more named clinical specialties and provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service to a defined patient cohort within the outpatient/virtual ward setting.

Be accountable and responsible for the management of Pharmacy Homecare Services.

Be responsible for management of Pharmacy input to Cambridge Infusion Centre.

Be responsible for management of Pharmacy input to Virtual Wards

Act as an expert resource and actively lead on the safe, effective (including cost effective) and timely implementation and use of biologic medicines in all settings across the Trust.

Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to promote safe, effective (including cost effective) and timely use of medicines within relevant outpatient specialties.

  • Masters level degree in pharmacy
  • Post-graduate preregistration year
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.

  • Experience of direct supervision of senior and junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Experienced clinical pharmacist with experience as a lead pharmacist for a relevant clinical specialty at band 8b who has also covered a large range of specialties.
  • Experienced in documentation in medical notes
  • Experience of consultant ward round/clinic or MDT participation attendance
