Job summary
We are looking to recruit a skilled supervisor with expertise and knowledge to maintain and repair building fabric issues. You will take a pro-active approach to your work duties, to ensure our customer / client needs are met. You will have a back ground in carpentry, building and painting, with the skills to coordinate the workforce across these disciplines.
You will be your team's first point of contact for all concerns as raised. With expectation that you will be able to work alongside existing staff to demonstrate 'best working practices' and efficiency. To support staff with all training, appraisals and trade specific knowledge. To deliver the day to day supervisory needs of the team will be paramount to this role, with a focus on customer service and an emphasis on a quality finish.
You will conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards Codes of Practice,safe systems of work and recognised industry standards to minimise damage to the fabric of the property. Ideally you could have other skills in basic plumbing or electrics as an example to deliver a cost-effective building solution to the NHS and its customers.
Main duties of the job
- Coordinate and plan the work activities of staff and external contractors for all building maintenance statutory and mandatory obligations.
- At all times to carry Trust communication devices (mobile phones, pagers and/or two-way radios) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies.
- To work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury to self and others and prevent damage to equipment.
- Act as point of contact regarding buildings or equipment failure and to arrange the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.
- Ensure compliance of Passive Fire systems, such as Fire Doors and Fire stopping, Roofing, Building structures, Ground Works and Decoration is supported through training and service delivery.
- Ensure that a quality service is delivered that meets the expectations of Trust staff, patients and the general public.
