The Transplant Pharmacy Team is a dedicated, welcoming specialist team of advanced non-medical Prescribing Pharmacists, Rotational Pharmacists and a Specialist Pharmacy Technician. The Transplant Pharmacy Team are well respected and very much at the centre of the MDT.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Pharmacist with a strong clinical background across a range of specialties, to join an excellent team to work in this interesting and challenging world of transplantation. Working in an ambitious and world renown transplant centre covering a wide range of solid organ transplants including kidney, pancreas, liver and multivisceral transplantation, you will need to be comfortable collaborating with clinicians, nurses and others to ensure that pharmaceutical care of transplant patients is safe and optimised.

Main duties of the job
Together with the team you will be responsible for the delivery of a specialist pharmacy service to transplant inpatients and outpatients. Strong utilisation of non-medical prescribing skills is essential. Dedicated support will be available to develop these skills for newly qualified/about to qualify prescribers, or those with no prior transplant experience. The team has a strong focus on service improvement and redesign for outpatient immunosuppression provision, and development of the pharmacy service to optimise support for patients with complex medicines management needs.There will be opportunities to collaborate locally, attend national conferences and showcasing your work is encouraged
Supporting the Lead Pharmacist, you will provide all aspects of advanced clinical pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical governance. This will include undertaking ward rounds, MDT reviews, clinical assessments, participating in clinical governance meetings, developing systems of good governance and advances in clinical practice.
