We have an opportunity for a Band 6 for a fixed term period of 10 months commencing October / November 2023. However, our large Department is ever changing and other opportunities may arise should you want to stay in Cambridge thereafter.
This exciting position will be integral to the Gastroenterology Dietetic Service with an input to a busy, acute Gastro Surgery Ward alongside Outpatient Clinics and FODMAP patient education sessions. Gastroenterology within CUH Dietetics spans across Band 5 to Band 7, so there are plenty of discussion, learning, support and teaching opportunities.
Would you like to be one of four our Gastroenterology Dietitians, working in the first fully electronic, busy acute, Specialist, and Tertiary Hospital with 90+ Dietitians, where your patient's medical notes are always accessible and available?
You will undertake Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinics, providing dietetic input and management to a range of conditions in the medical arena e.g. IBS / FODMAPS, stoma and inflammatory bowel disease patients, alongside FODMAP group education sessions. The Gastro Surgery Ward is busy, but friendly, and appreciates the Dietitian's input into the MDT and Enhanced Recovery (ERAS) with plenty of opportunity for Ward training sessions.
Main duties of the job
To act as part of the Dietetic Team and in conjunction with the Renal, Gastro, Hepatology Team, to provide specialist and cover dietetic services to Gastroenterology (Medical and/or Surgical Gastroenterology) Inpatients and Outpatients at Addenbrooke's and other external Units / agencies as appropriate.
To undertake Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinics and patient education sessions, providing dietetic input and management to a range of conditions in both the Medical and Surgical area and provide cover for other colleagues in the field of Gastroenterology.
To work within a multi-professional framework and contribute to a first-class service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.
To set and work towards individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.
