Job summary
The Building, Estates and Maintenance Department are looking for motivated individuals to join our team of Maintenance Assistants.
The Maintenance Assistants perform work of a routine non-complex nature, responsible for minor repairs and routine planned maintenance activities. You will have relevant experience of working in a Maintenance or Estates department and have an understanding and awareness of working within safe systems.
Main duties of the job
Performs work of a routine non-complex nature, responsible for minor repairs and routine planned maintenance activities as directed by management. Ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. Taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
Tasks include:-
Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks and inspections on engineering plant with supervision.
Cleaning and changing of ventilation plant filters / ventilation grills.
Cleaning of all hospital light fittings and diffusers / change lamps when required.
Assisting during emergencies including clearing up of floods.
Unblocking of hospital sanitary fittings; unblock and clean drainage systems.
Carrying out repairs of a minor nature to Nurse call handsets.
