Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has experience working in an acute paediatric setting and has an interest in team and service development. You will need to have significant leadership and motivational skills and a desire to enhance these further.
PDU is a Regional Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Day Unit that cares for children aged 0-16. You will need to be able to demonstrate significant competence at coordinating a shift, knowledge and experience in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology, and will need to be competent in chemotherapy administration.
Post registration paediatric oncology course is required or a commitment to undertake this within the year.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for competently providing safe and effective care, without supervision to children requiring in-patient hospitalisation and day stay care facilities. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Participate in the supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration staff.
Regularly co-ordinate the management of care delivered by nursing and non-nursing support staff, taking charge of the ward in the absence of the ward manager. Demonstrate leadership ability
