Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST5 / ST6+) in Gastroenterology (IBD) from 11 October 2023 until 10 October 2024.
Main duties of the job
The focus of this post is training in IBD. The post holder should be at or near the end of their Gastroenterology training and must be certified independent in Upper GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. There is an expectation that the post holder will be involved in IBD research activities. This could include audit, translational research or commercial trials. Projects would ideally be agreed upon in advance and be achievable within the 12 month period.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
- Full MRCP or equivalent
- Full Registration and licence to practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement in post
- Completed a minimum of four years Specialty Registrar or equivalent training in Gastroenterology in the UK or equivalent
Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
