Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced specialist Rheumatology senior nurse to apply for the position of Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Rheumatology team here at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

You will be responsible for nursing leadership, inspiring and developing the specialist nurse workforce. They will foster and develop strong collaborative working relationships internally and externally and play a vital role delivering high quality and safe care to all patient groups.

As a senior member in the Rheumatology service you will work closely with the Medical and Operational teams to deliver specialty, divisional and Trust objectives. Forming and influencing the strategic and clinical objectives set.

You will be someone who will have in-depth knowledge across a range of Rheumatic conditions, be able to effectively and efficiently manage complex specialised rheumatology patients and be able to ensure that patients, their families and those working in the Rheumatology department are fully supported.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage and lead a specialist service with responsibility for ensuring high quality, cost-effective healthcare or Manage and lead a workforce of specialist nurses (i.e. across a Division)
  • Responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis implementation and evaluation of care, as an autonomous practitioner with highly specialist
  • Be involved in the strategic review of clinical services as appropriate
  • Be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care
