The CUH Pathology Management Team are seeking a suitable individual to fulfil the role of Associate Operations Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across all Pathology disciplines on a range of operational issues, working closely with the Operations Manager and the Pathology Management Team.
CUH is one of the largest and busiest hospitals in the country and is a leading clinical and academic centre with a national and international reputation for excellence. The Pathology Directorate employs over 500 people across 14 different services. The successful candidate will form a key part of the central Pathology management team.
Main duties of the job
Provide day to day management of assigned Pathology service.
Support the Pathology Operation Manager with all pathology services, but lead assigned departments.
In conjunction with the Pathology Management team, contribute to the strategic development of the pathology services across the Trust.
For assigned departments manage all non-medical staff (in conjunction with the Clinical Director/Lead), space and equipment allocated to the pathology/service to ensure an efficiently delivered service.
To contribute to the formulation of directorate strategies for the training, supervision and development of all non-medical staff within pathology services.
To be the Pathology lead for IT, training and contingency planning (e.g. developing and maintaining plans).
Follow the Trust's standing policies and procedures to ensure an efficient delivery of pathology service.
Ensure departmental policies and procedures are developed and maintained to ensure an efficient delivery of service.
In conjunction with Pathology Leads manage the pathology department budgets within assigned departments.
