Job summary

As a Controller, you will be responsible for the clinical consumables in clinical locations across the Trust. You will be assigned different places to visit everyday, putting away their stock, which depends upon how much you have countered and ordered for them 2 days before.

You must accurately count the stock in all store areas, upload onto the system and create order numbers for the different suppliers and you must monitor these orders as they will be coming in on a different day to the standard NHS delivery. Any items that do not turn up must be investigated and recorded as necessary. Full training will be given in the way of shadowing.

Liaising and communication with department managers is essential for controlling the stock or substitute stock. Finding out the areas' needs is vital for the efficient running of patient care.

You will be carrying out yearly stock reviews, which entails you running a report on stock usage, and this will update any stock levels that may need changing upon discussions with the Ward Managers.
