Job summary

The Radiotherapy Physics provides a comprehensive Physics service to the Addenbrooke's Oncology Centre ensuring the safe and accurate use of high dose ionising radiation to treat patients with cancer, whilst maintaining a safe environment for other patients, visitors and staff.

Addenbrooke's Oncology Centre has four Elekta Linacs, two Varian STx Linacs, and two Accuray Radixacts. Simulation is provided by two Canon CT scanners, with additional multimodality imaging used as required. The centre also has an expansive HDR and LDR brachytherapy programme. Radiotherapy planning is performed on RaySearch RayStation, Accuray Precision, and BrainLab Elements planning systems. The centre's Oncology Management System is Mosaiq.

The post holder will work as part of a team providing support for radiotherapy treatment planning and quality control/dosimetry.

To be involved in the work of the department in dosimetry, quality assurance, treatment planning, computing, imaging systems and brachytherapy.
