An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Medical Equipment Library Supervisor to join the Medical Equipment library team in our Clinical Engineering Department.
You will work in a busy team that manages the delivery, collection and processing of Medical Devices that come under the Medical Equipment libraries responsibility to ensure patient safety. The department works to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 quality standards and is responsible for the management in excess of 55,000 medical devices used across the hospital and in the community throughout East Anglia.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for assisting the Head of Medical Equipment Library in the day to day management of the MEL. To ensure a safe and effective standard of MEL service is provided in compliance with the departmental quality system. This includes assigning and prioritising the work within the MEL. The post holder will be responsible for the management of external medical device loans including auditing, analysing and reporting using MEL processes. In addition to exercising administrative oversight of the MEL the post holder will be required to liaise with clinical staff to provide medical devices to all clinical areas. The Post holder is required to work to extremely high standards of workmanship, safety and accountability.
You will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and act as a point of contact for users of MEL medical devices.
